Definitely would be easier to implement than a toolbar (I think). Have you written anything on toolbars other than what is in the Hacker's Guide (I read that).
BTW, I went looking to see if you published anything on that and came across your article that you posted regarding your journey into programming - interesting! I also have a fairly "circuitous" route into programming - I started off in agriculture and then when doing a Master's in soybean breeding, I had to process tens of thousands of data points from my results - that got me started. Next job that I took (offfice manager, not even closely related), because I was the "new, young guy" who supposedly understood computers (more than the "old guys"), I got thrown into buying them for their office and then got into programming via "can you set up something to track...". I would suspect that a good many of us got into our line of work in a round about way. Anyhow, I enjoyed reading your article.

>I was going to suggest a recent files list. You could set those menu items to call a routine to which you pass an identifier as parameter and that routine opens the file, whatever opens means in your application.
