Here are a few stupid questions (based on a wild guess I'm making):
1. Can look at the Servers tab of the property sheet of the project? Are all the fields there blank? (usually these are blank, unless the project is for a COM sever)
2. Are you finding "extra files" along with EXE -- such as TLB and/or VBR files? (usually you don't get these for FXP/APP/EXE)
3. If you do as Tore suggested, and run VFP as administrator (i.e. right-click on VFP icon, then select "run as administrator" in context menu), then compile, does the problem seem to go away?

It may be possible that at some time before you stated having this problem, "Single-threaded COM server" or "Multi-threaded COM server" was selected when compiling.
