>Not to be a stlickler for details but that is absolutely false. Try about 35% of the world total. And you might want to do a little research on some of the items contained in the “Defense Bill” –they have nothing to do with defense but as you pointed out, a hell of a lot to do with congress “bringing home the bacon”. The same thing with the “Farm Bill” – 80% Nutrition (food stamps and lunch programs) and 14% Crop Insurance and Conservation combined.

Exactly. We have created a new class of dependent people- defense workers.
If you closed Fort Bragg, southern North Carolina and nearby South Carolina would go into an economic tailspin, as would southern NJ if you closed McGuire/Dix.
The sequester was a brake, but as we see, it can't work unless we wean these people off this dependency.
>Do you mean like the Syrian government gassing the Kurds.
Don't know what you mean.
Should we do things because Syrians do things to Kurds?
I'm interested in what people in Hamilton do to people in Hamilton.
Somewhat in what people in Pa do, distantly so in Texas.
Syria???
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
