>>When a news reporter accurately reports a news story it's not fake.

Yes, but are statistics accurate if you conceal inconvenient evidence and "accurately" report only the things that suit your hypothesis?

There are lies of omission as well as commission.

To be fair, there are some who draw the same distinction as you- that "fake news" is different from "selective facts." Fake News is a neologism originally invented by the MSM to land hits on Trump, but successfully embraced and turned around by his team to boomerang it back at them. I guess its meaning will settle over time. My view is that it's most useful as a basket for media dishonesty, better than a whole page of species of lying that some people will want to quibble over. Jargon is only useful if it prevents the quibbling IMHO.

>> I don't know how much simpler I can make this to you. If ya don't follow then so be it - but you're falling for Trump's b.s.

I challenge you to find any attribution of mine relying on something Trump says. I rely on my own comprehension or 3rd party reports from those who are not showing bias or emotional investment.

But for your amusement, I will quote Trump in his Fake News awards: the doctoring of a video by CNN to make it look as if POTUS ungraciously dumped his fish food at a fish feeding ceremony with the Japanese premier. In real life, the host upended his canister first and Trump politely followed suit. CNN snipped out the host to make Trump look petulant. They excised the context to deliver their next hit. You may insist that the result is "accurate reporting" because it shows something that actually happened, but everybody else knows it's fake news.

An example of 3rd party findings: the Media Research Center has been measuring MSM reporting about Trump and current government all year. As of December, the 90% negative reporting continues despite stock market, employment and business optimism great news. This time MRC described it as "unrelenting hostility."

Non-stop Enemy Action for over a year, Victor.

But it's wearing thin. Take the latest tax bill: in December, support for the bill was 29% according to Gallup. with a large majority opposed to the bill. But this week's POLITICO poll shows 47% support for the bill and only 34% still opposed.

The MSM campaign of relentless hostility is not fooling all the people all the time. Apple repatriating $350B hoarded offshore to avoid US tax rates... that trumps any amount of "racist!" shrieking from the enemy. Lowest black unemployment since recording began almost half a century ago: this trumps shrieking of "liar!" from the saboteurs.

It's over, Victor. The public is swinging to my point of view that if you already know that the MSM is going to be relentlessly hostile no matter what, you need to look elsewhere for the truth.

>> and as I pointed out this whole fake news b.s. is a danger to our democracy. You don't live here so I doubt you care anyway...so once again...move along.

The public agrees that all the fake news is a danger to democracy. And if you want a safe space without dirty foreigners who might disagree with you, maybe establish your own? This one is Canadian, fwiw.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
