I am referring to a TV interview after his presidency I saw myself, in which he said, that believing only tax cuts would be enough to curb gov spending, that earler on he believed gov spending to follow a (similar/parallell) path to taxes raised and that tax-cut resulting budget overruns / deficit spending were the things he wished to not have happened. Have not researched other sources for different biggest mistakes ;-)

Could be, but the best time to minimize effect of such a thing is ASAP or try to fix it.
