It may also be fair to say that he - or anybody for that matter - may need to rely on different frameworks for different types of apps. But, to say that any commercial framework must be ditched in favor of rolling your own framework is off base. I for one use Visual FoxExpress - since 2.x. Sure, I customized the heck out of it...still do. But, VFE is still the foundation - and I am way ahead of where I would be if I had to roll my own framework. Simply put, I don't want to - nor do I have time to - to create my own framework. Most folks are in this camp...

VFE without doubt is a mature framework and a popular one. IMHO, if I am the owner of VFE, I will not categorically say that 'ours' was the most logical one. Anyway we are living a free enterprise business environment.

Mine is so simple. I am not categorically saying that Frameworks are bad or do not use frameworks or make your own framework. If a specific framework satisfies the requirements, so be it, as we are now in a fast pace technology era. It so happened that we did our 'own' that fits perfectly our needs and wants, and so I did suggest to Joe that he could do the same if he can't find any that nearly satisfies his needs as a unique developer.
