>>>Can you be more specific? Just a few examples of what might be "support":
>>>
>>>- DBA for mission-critical production databases for a large company
>>>- Front-line user support for a similar company, or working with an outfit like Geek Squad
>>>- Cyber security is big and getting bigger
>>>- So-called "DevOps" is trendy these days
>>
>>Something like a DBA, but not a customer service rep.
>>Something like a systems Integration engineer. But not a production support rep.
>>Something like a IT support analyst. But, not a technical support rep.
>>
>>Maybe that's my problem. I don't really know exactly what it is. There seems to be a lot of overlapping areas of duty when it comes to support "engineering".

>What's your motivation: have you seen someone doing a different job and said to yourself, "Gee, I'd like to do that"? Or are you just sick of coding and want to do something different?
Little of a lot of things.
Feeling burned out.
Tired to chasing technology.
Tired of going through lines and lines and pages and pages of code everyday.
I want to learn something else.
I want to develop my people skills.
