In fairness, the Afganistan adventure was supported by a lot of US allies too, unlike the second Iraq caper. Even tiny NZ has troops and casualties in Afganistan.
Anyway, why go all the way back to Bush? Syria was and continues to be a stumblefest of which the Keystone Cops would be proud with pretend lines in the sand, funding of hostile caliphates, mass atrocities and stubborn refusal to work with Russians to end it all quicker- which is quietly looking more likely under current administration, fwiw, though the most likely outcome includes closer ties to Russia and Iran rather than the US.
