OK, several things.

First, I didn't say that being a governor makes one a good president. (I don't think Reagan was a great president but also don't think he was a poor one).
There are individual things about Clinton that were positive in his 2nd term. But I still say someone with at least 4 years of executive experience is a pre-req.

Second, of that 40% of citizens who would have to borrow money to pay for an emergency expense, I'll ask the impertinent question - of that 40%, how many otherwise could have, had they not managed their money so badly.

Personal admission...I took time off from work in 2006 to write a book and to deal with some family issues. I did not plan well and made some really stupid mistakes. As a result, I went through a bit of a rough time financially....and it was my own goddamn fault.

I personally know people who are in situations like the one you described, and sadly they made some very unwise decisions in money management. Now, at the risk of sounding like Old Man Potter in "It's a Wonderful Life", I realize that sometimes rough times happen to people who haven't repeatedly pulled the bozo bit with money management. However, that 40% definitely has a breakdown that isn't nearly as politically convenient for the Bernie people, and candidly, I thought that kind of 40% statistic would be used by our friend who is six hours behind eastern time, not by you. You really should know better.

"Setting things straight".....to be provided by whom? Well, right now under Bernie it will be people with family incomes in the 200k to 250K range. Bad idea. Really really really really really really really bad idea. If Bernie comes anywhere close to where I live, I'll personally go there and ask him what kind of Soviet-style force he intends to use to grab more money from me. He can go pound sand.

JFK...and now Sanders? I wish I were as old as Lloyd Benson, so I could borrow from his theme: "I've met JFK. Bernie Sanders is no JFK"
