Not "people", rather "some people". There's an industry out there that those people live on.

It's disturbing and should be outlawed, just as for-profit prisons should be. ...which is something Obama had made headway on,...but of course since Obama did it Trump has decided to undo it. The whole thing is sickening.
Funny though that arguments like this are not made more frequently when these things are introduced. But every time one proposes removing some of the sleazy practices and downright exploitation-to-the-max, there's some public concern expressed that this removal would cause some people grief. Can't explain why, perhaps believers may find this a proof - there must be some kind of angels who always worry about those who live on crime, second-handedly and unwillingly, but never about the victims of those crimes.
