Hey, what are the chances any of them are going to be physicists, or even techies? Remember, they've never known a world that didn't have the Web. They were 7 or 8 years old when Wireless-N was introduced. WiFi has been around all of their preteen and teen years, they don't think twice about it other than to complain when it's not available, fast, and free.

I don't know the T&Cs for the school's WiFi but a strong argument can be made that it should not be operational outside of school hours. Any decent lawyer could argue that the connections logged were the result of wrongful action (or inaction) and should not be admissable.
