Well, apart from the "Peace Lines" not due to be completely phased out until 2023. As for the leaders - peace was brought on by prosperity stripping both sets of belligerents of recruits, not something radical leadership sought or wanted on either side. Prosperity arose from EU membership but more importantly the dreaded "tax cut that advantages only the rich" that attracted Intel and others into Ireland leading to economic boom, high-paying jobs and a rising tide lifting all boats. As prosperity declines in Ireland, some predict old hatreds raising their heads again.

Meanwhile this "flight of ideas" trend seems to be very popular to find any sort of brick to throw at Trump.

WRT the current favorite brick: the authorized mission for US troops in Syria is to stamp out terrorism, not to defend Kurds. If the US wants to defend Kurds, Congress needs to authorize that. Perhaps they can fit it in amongst the latest impeachment investigation, or even better just pretend it's all on BOM and insist the Kurds' blood is on his hands.
