>You're right, it's a closed ecosystem with enough positive cases to justify conclusions... also good practice for deluges of people descending on healthcare once the exponential curve cuts in. Assuming it does - anecdote out of Wuhan is that the number of new cases is declining.
Speaking of deluges:
Panic:
This morning I saw this of TV from the Florida Department of Health "“individuals who have traveled internationally should self-isolate for 14 days following their date of return to the United States.”
I thought , "10 million overseas tourist and 3.5 million more from Canada every year. Have these people gone completely insane".
Reality:
I just read this in theTanpa Bay Times, "Monday afternoon, the state instead said people should follow the federal guidelines, meaning that people who have traveled to China, Italy, Iran and South Korea should self-isolate. The state also advised people returning from cruises to “monitor (their) health and limit interactions with others for 14 days.”
Take a look at the attachment from the Florida Department of Health 9 March 2020 release - . 12 cases positive with 10 over 60 ; 1 age 54 and 1 age 29 ; two deaths both over 70 (both traveled abroad); 8 of 12 traveled abroad and
140 tested NEGATIVE
Meanwhile 250 deaths last week from H1N1 - Doesn't count because H1N1 is "under control". They don't even try to count cases just "outbreaks" based on the % of people who seek medical attention and have H1N1.
