>>Even forgetting the MSM trying to discredit him, that little stunt of, "these tests are beautiful, anyone who needs a test can get one, any doctor who wants to do a test can do a test" was asinine. Did it harm the cause of dealing with the virus? Probably not....but it was completely disingenuous.

I found myself defending Obama from similar reaction to his "if you want to keep your doctor" comment...

>>anyone who needs a test can get one

How do you define who "needs" (say) a full blood count, or electrolytes, or a coag test, or any other medical test?

"Need" is determined by physician.

>>any doctor who wants to do a test can do a test...

This comment actually was supported by the experts on the Pence taskforce: they argue that every state now has testing capacity with one million tests already sent out (when the cohort is less than 1000 so far) and another 6 million due out this week.

Is the Pence taskforce wrong?

I did see one governor disagreeing with them. It ought to be possible for a real journalist to drill into that, to determine whether physicians can order tests in that governor's state or not.

WAPO has had an invitation "were you unable to get tested?" on its front page for over a week now, including specific invitation for physicians to report lapses. To date, no substantiated cases worthy of report.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
