Hi Kevin,

>Tell you what, for anyone who is disagreeing with me, please do what I've suggested before. Venture out of the friendly confines of the UT and share those perspectives on other sites.

Not sure what you are referring to...

>That is my way of saying that some of the remaining VFP names just continue to show that they feel what was true in the 1990's is still true today. There will be very few conferences between now and the end of the year, and the few that actually manage to prop up something will likely have terrible attendance. Candidly, and this is honest and sincere advice to Doug (whom I hold in fairly high regard), the time to look at a virtual model is now.

There is a huge difference between the two models. I'm visiting a lot of conferences (not VFP related) and meet a lot of clients and 3rd parties in person. Some things can be done online, others cannot.

Yes, sure doing presentations, a talk, can be done online in very much the same way as on a conference. Demonstrations of software is doable online as well. But if it comes to discussions, brain storming, making deals, networking and socializing, there is no substitution for regular (in person) meetings.

>And to go back to your original question....I never dismiss anyone's experience. I merely point out where those experiences are, and aren't.

Huh, never dismiss anyone's experience and then you go on to point out where they aren't. You've lost me there.

Walter,
