Only two serious things were never resolved in Fox
- dependence on Windowses
- unicode

Everything else could be delegated to either some ActiveX or external processes, in those rare cases when doing it in pure fox would take too much time or be too complicated. Nowadays, the lack of unicode is a serious thing. Last time I had an app that had to accept input in two languages, I was extremely lucky one of them was english, which is a subset of every other codepage anyway.
