Only issue I would even partially agree about is lack of Unicode support, but a few workarounds exist for that.

Nowadays, the lack of unicode is a serious thing. Last time I had an app that had to accept input in two languages, I was extremely lucky one of them was english, which is a subset of every other codepage anyway.
