Over here, we just had our election. The left wing incumbent won an historic majority and invited the opposition leader to attend the celebration party for a drink and a chat. The losing leader went. Why? Because civility is never "over" and being respectful is a reflection of your character, not theirs. Of course this was one of the good examples famously set by the US once upon a time. On that note I give up and sign off by wishing you every success in your upcoming election.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
