>> If you have legal considerations, ask M$ first. While waiting for response, move to Germany. It's perfectly legal to fix the bug yourself over here (or order somebody to do it), as long as M$ is not responding. There is nobody at MS able to do it anyway, so who cares?

Somebody did once report VFPA to Microsoft for EULA infringement; MS's response was a generic suggestion that legal advice can help if there's ever any question. My own such confirmation says that there's specific common law cutouts for bug fixes and interoperability improvements in most Western jurisdictions, which is actually referenced/acknowledged in the EULA fwiw.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
