I also recall it looked a bit dated as well already back in these years. "dated", "passé" that was a bit reassuring commercially since it looked like good old win32 software. It used to be an advantage, it is now clearly a liability:-(

>Sure. I also hope that some come over and explain how they get their "vfp-based" apps onto the workstations in 2021. I shared my tricks and secret weapons: boxedapp bundler accross-the-board exe consolidation + EV code-signing + zipped directory. And I hope others will share their experiences and possibly successful ones!

Orca is more or less a way to look into the msi. Nothing you can't do with VFP too. Anyway its clumsy. https://www.heise.de/download/product/superorca-56658 is better, but. It's a waste of time to learn the deepness of msi and deal with it through the tables.
Forget about it. If you really like to deal with msi based installers, buy Installshield, now Revenera / Flexera. It's f.. expensive, but if you go for it, it's worth it's money. It's surface (IDE) is good enough for most cases, and if you really like to go for the tables, it comes with an editor. Well documented. The scripting lang is not that bad too,
It might be wise to understand the msi system - but even then working with Orca is like assembler by comparison.
And msi based installation as a mighty tool.
