The Affordable Healthcare Act barely passed as it was. It had all the good effects predicted -- and the propaganda war against it never stopped. The Aussies for all their political battles are much more "together" than the US, it seems to me. I noticed that during my short visit there back in 2015.

>>>And guess who are against making the ID's free and geographically accessible?

>And guess who currently has the House, Senate and POTUS? Doesn't matter what "those who are against making IDs free" may think until next year, at least.

>>>And of course it cuts both ways: the proof is always in the pudding.

>IMHO: Obama's legacy ought to have been Healthcare funding, but they screwed it up by disconnecting guaranteed acceptance from compulsory contribution. Executed properly it would have been extremely difficult to undo, just like Australia's National Super scheme whose compulsory contribution caused widespread shrieking until the scheme was a resounding success. When they increased the compulsory % of income contribution in 2019, not even the ultra-right were motivated to oppose it. Meanwhile free accessible ID ought to be a great deal easier to implement (you may disagree but please consider that I've had to get IDs in every continent except Antarctica) and would take a lot of the wind out of the "stolen election" sails at the mid-terms and beyond...
