The Affordable Healthcare Act barely passed as it was. It had all the good effects predicted -- and the propaganda war against it never stopped. The Aussies for all their political battles are much more "together" than the US, it seems to me. I noticed that during my short visit there back in 2015.

When they increased the compulsory % of income contribution in 2019, not even the ultra-right were motivated to oppose it. Meanwhile free accessible ID ought to be a great deal easier to implement (you may disagree but please consider that I've had to get IDs in every continent except Antarctica) and would take a lot of the wind out of the "stolen election" sails at the mid-terms and beyond...
