>>Since xSharp is OpenSource, instead of now throwing the towel I stay back a bit - still following, not working on singular functions any more - but if they stay otherwise on track I might try to "out-Pareto" a KISS solution tick(l)ing most of my wishes, as in 10% of the code resulting in >50% of functionality wanted by this ape ;-)

>I still support some VFP apps, but all new work is in .NET.
>One thing I miss in .NET is the VFP report writer. SSRS is OK, but it's primitive compared to the VFP version. I wish someone at MS would figure that out and upgrade SSRS.
>Keeping up with .NET is almost a full time job and at my stage in life, a full time job is the last thing I want - especially with nice weather on the way.
Weather here today clearing up - while I am no golfer, will get vitamin D production fueled by going outside a few quarters.
Most new stuff I did last years was Java, bit of Javascript and enhancing existing vfp - tried to find Python, but nothing along the lines I liked (might be I am to snobby/pickish).
I personally feel no pressure to leave vfp to create desktop apps in a vfp-xBase variant. Client wishes are not discussed and if a gig shows up luring me, I will code in dynamic or static languages after a week of getting seated in their surroundings and soaking up their standards and preferences. But I also use vfp for most of my "personal scripting" from "forensic bookkeeping analysis" to directory reshuffling.
I dislike using mobile or tablets only as optional input device if going via web and FoxinCloud - to me those devices are computers as well, scripting there I tried in Python and Javascript. Doable, but I would like to have fox-similar capabilites there.
Will look at Lianja again, but hope for Dotnet to span Desktop Win, Android, Web, iOS, ARM-Linux, AMD64Linux, current and future MacOS while providing me a local DB layer via xSharp in sources I could try to fix or at least follow debugging. Part of it is similar to Dragan moving everything to Linux as part of retirement hobby - weekly H of programming are below 60+H by intent here now ;-)
