Al,
>>I'm working to output a VFP report to an Excel .xlsx file. It will have a very different structure from the VFP report so I can't use any sort of direct output-to-Excel function. Basically, I'll be taking individual report fields and putting their contents into specific cells on specific worksheets in the output workbook.
Would you be able to get it approximately right in a cursor or dbf? If so, at one stage we were able to rename the dbf as an xls and Excel would open it. If it's a fancy pants Excel sheet, check out XFRX or Foxypreviewer that may be able to save you a heap of effort...
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
