Last time I tried that was... a number of years ago, perhaps eight, and the PS driver was a problem, I couldn't find one that would install on 64-bit systems. It looked as if Adobe completely ditched the PS as such and went fully into compiled PS aka PDF.
The last version of PS driver that I had was dated... 1991? If there's no newer one, no wonder it has problems with some formats. Ghostscript, OTOH, was always good and surprisingly fast. I remember in 2003 I used to generate some .ps from Fox and convert that into .png using gs, it was then fast enough to run inside a web app.
