You see, if you decontextualize 1984 so that the lessons aren't about the dangers of totalitarianism, then you can make anything sound scary. The government becomes the bogeyman, even if "the government" in your case is the VA health agency. You are dependent on the government for your healthcare?! Have you considered what might happen if they were EVIL?! (raises eyebrow)
