>There is also another course we could play. St James Bay course (green fees $39 -$59) is only 14 miles from the Carrabelle police station. The original
I like the first course.
I learned to play before there were sprinklers on the fairways. The greens and tees got an occasional dose but the rest was determined by nature. So we had four courses.. winter, spring, summer and fall.
Summer was a blast. The fairways were a light tan and as hard as concrete. Those tee shots just kept going and going.
So that little course sounds great to me.
Carrabelle recalls Springfield Gardens, a small town in Queens, NY, where I came of age. My mother - who had to work and leave my older brother and me alone - always told us that if we had a problem we should go to officer Clancy - the beat cop in our neighborhood. Clancy knew us all and looked out for us.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
