>>Hi,

>>We had a power outage today. Maybe it is a coincidental, maybe not, but now when I turn on my notebook, and hover the mouse over the battery, it says "8% available. plugged in, not charging."

>>None of the above resolves the issue. If I remember correctly, before this outage, the battery was about 70% charged.

>- Have you tried plugging the laptop charger into a different wall socket? Perhaps a breaker tripped and there's no power coming out of the socket.
>- The power brick (i.e. the laptop charger) may have failed -- i.e. either within the "brick" itself, or the power cable (the latter could happen depending on how you've been handling it when packing/unpacking it -- you could ruin the cabling by introducing sharp bends on the cable or applying too much tension).
>- charging circuit within the laptop may have gone bad
It is possible that the charging circuit of the laptop stopped working. I ordered a new battery. This will prove or disprove this possibility.
Thank you.
