>A client wants me to add a facility for his application to exchange data with a website. The website's SDK calls for POSTs and returns JSON. Looks like either Chilkat or wwIPStuff will give me what I need for the communication, so looking for opinions. (If I go with Chilkat, I'll probably use Bill Anderson's new VFPX wrapper class for it.)

Just about any modern website has some form of advanced authentication. Chilkat a) handles all that and b) has examples of how to implement all that.
Also, when authentication standards change, Chilkat provides for using those new standards.
