>>Another city I wish I could have spent more time in - San Francisco. I was at Fisherman's Wharf, but for barely less than 2 days, so didn't get the chance to see much of it.

>San Francisco sucks! Your were lucky you spent fewer than 2 days there.

>>[shrug] Don't know what San Francisco is like nowadays -- hadn't been up there since the 1980s. I do recall >>back in the 1970s and 1980s it didn't seem too bad back when I'd visited the area (though mostly limited to >>places like Fisherman's Warf, Ghirardelli Square, parts of Chinatown and Japantown).

I was born and raised in S.F. and I can tell you it not worth anyone's hard earned money to visit currently. Crime is everywhere, human feces is everywhere, Police do nothing to protect anyone. Lot's of naked men riding bicycles near the Wharf. I have a friend that went to the cities last week and decided to eat at pier 39. He watched two men assault a woman (most likely a tourist) and steal her purse. According to what he saw the cops showed up and did nothing - not even a report. You see the theft was under $1000.00. One of my client's employees went to Union Square and watched a man go into a store and steal a rack of expensive jeans - just last year. Nothing was done. I recommend you don't visit California. Times have changed and not for the good!
