>What can you expect? Code in a fox-like environment, with a vfp-like syntax and produce code that runs fiffy times faster than an interpreter à la fox or python. This >"mojo" will possibly be a killer of python C-based extensions, or compilers à la numba, lpython, pythran and others. Still an alpha project but already very promising:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8Hz0LSSojM&ab_channel=LeetCoderAs a long time python user it is impressive to see what MOJO has been able to do. However, I doubt it will match Fox. You see - speed what not the issue with FOX. The big deal with FOX was the data aware controls. So far MOJO does not have a UI. You can't use wxPython, PyQT, or even tkinter. But there are a couple of new UI tools. Flex and Reflex. Both of these are able to create web apps and Flex can even create a mobile app for the Iphone. However, neither have data aware controls. You can design/add code to get it done but again that's a lot of work.
Although desktop apps are not dead there hasn't been a lot of interest recently from anyone. So for MOJO to succeed they will need a web solution. Yes, I know there are command line stuff that is still needed.
