I have some experience but only with Canadian versions of QB, which I understand are significantly different from US versions. I have one client with an RDS server with 2 different versions installed, both being used simultaneously in remote sessions.

Some things to be wary of:
1. If you're migrating old company files (like 2013) to the current subscription product, you *might* need to do it in a couple of steps e.g. 2013 -> 2018, then 2018 -> 2024. You could ask Intuit if the current product can directly migrate 2013 company files
2. The current Canadian desktop product has some limited integration capability (via COM IIRC) with Microsoft Office. For example, reports can be output to Excel if it's available on the PC. I have no idea if US 2013 can do that, but if it does and that feature is being used, 2013 might not support Office 365. On the other hand, the current subscription product likely requires a new-ish Office version (like 365). So if you want to use that integration with both 2013 and the current product, you may need to have 2 different versions of Office installed, and somehow get each QB version to call (via COM) the version of Excel it expects.
