Hi Mark and Gonz,
It's nice to know that I'm missed, but I'm not so sure that I should be flattered based on Mark's text.:-)
I don't have Gonz's facility for limericks, but I have been know to spin off a poem or two. So here's what I've been doing (for better or verse).
Away from the UT on Christmas Eve,
Had chores to, so I took a leave.
Dinner with family, but just a few.
Didn't take long, so much to do.
Wrapping the gifts, a holiday chore.
But that was not all, there was still more.
'Cause late that night, did my usual thing.
Which meant the choir, in which I sing.
For the kids, Christmas day was quite happy.
For me it was otherwise, really was crappy.
The wife had to work, another day on her job.
So I hung around, just being a slob.
With the UT all but shut down.
With not many folks hanging around.
No fun there, so I didn't stay.
Just looked around, then went away.
The day after was different, wasn't the same.
She and I exchanged gifts, but this year was tame.
Then off for an evening, where we had a feast.
No folks I didn't have the roast beast.
Sunday was quiet, football for me.
Watching TV, not much else to see.
Bears lost again, what can I say?
Need a new coach, then maybe they'll play.
Laid out today, there's not much to do
Except trying to get rid of Client 32.
I hope you're not bored with this little tale.
It's just what's happened (and the check's in the mail).
George
