>There are three men stranded on a deserted island named Ted, Ned and Fred. Of these three men they were of two distinct types, the Blue that always tell the truth and the Red that always lie. After many years a ship finds the 3 hagard men. The captain of the ship shouts out to them, "If you are Blue then we will rescue you."

>Ted said. "I'm Blue and they're both Red."

>Ned said "I'm ... " but the rest was blown away by a sudden gust of wind.

>Fred Said. "He said he's Blue. That's true. I'm Blue too."

>The captain frowned uncertainly and called on his trusty advisor < you > to determine which if any should be rescued.

>Of the three which one(s) do you tell him to rescue and why?
Anybody, if asked, will say he´s blue. (Reason: if he is blue, he will truthfully say so, and if he is red, he will lie.) Therefore, Ned must have said "I'm blue." Fred agrees, so Fred must be blue. If Fred is blue, Ned is blue too, and Ted (who lied) is red.
