I think you've hit the nail on the head. The Microsoft VFP
is great and Mr. Green has been outstanding at attempting
to get VFP mentioned. But it is indeed ridiculous that everyone
cheers when VFP gets a one page ad once a year and says,
"You see ... Microsoft fully supports VFP.". Maybe one day
Microsoft will, today they don't, they just tolerate us VFP
developers.
I will take Jim's comments out of context here (so I am not
attempting to paraphrase Jim) but once again: If VFP is a
bastard product of Microsoft for database development, why
should it be used for the web development? Microsoft doesn't
even want us to use it for database developemnt.
>This has been an "objective" of Mr. Green (Mgr. (or some such)
>of VFP Team) for a long time now. I mean a very long time!
>Notwithstanding this, you will no doubt get some who will
>respond the 'Hey! Hey! - Chalk another victory up for
>Mr. Green!' Frankly, his campaign has been a miserable
>failure and we collectively should admit that rather than
>cheering each intermittent and marginal mention of VFP
>somewhere (anywhere - Geez, they even applaud seeing an
>ad at this place!)
