The most difficult parts for VFP developers seems to me a) finding the right function b) understanding how the function fits into Windows and c) translating the mostly C or VB samples to VFP code. The main job of such a book should help people in this regard, ie explain data types and especially how those that used in Windows map to those used in VFP, how to find Windows API functions and how the Windows API works (messages, window handles, etc.). A reference part could explain the maybe 100 most common functions, or so.

Hi Christof,

I think you've got a good idea there. I sympathize with it being hard to find the time. It's the same for me. I promised Tamar Granor another article sometime ago, but still haven't gotten to it. Part of it was a design decision, but the rest...Now that the holidays are over, I'll think I'll be able to get to it (hope, hope).

Maybe one of these days I'll get to the API thing. Maybe the two of us can collaborate on it.
George
