Glad you're enjoying the book. I am more and more as I read it. I'm also reading about the Blob and am relieved to report the app object I built wasn't one. That's good, I've "practiced" enough of the other antipatterns!
In 11 years I've had exactly two projects (one very small) that were mine from the very beginning. So, that's probably why the anti-patterns is clicking better for me at this point. I've always been retro-fitting (or retro-frittering, as I like to think of it) other people's structures.
I agree with your comments with one note: I do think that the management and architecture antipatterns will be useful in designing new systems.
