It is very possible to lose text/data from memo fields. In some circumstances, the memo field appears to have data in it (the "M" is upper case) yet when you open the field, the data is "missing". Suggest you check the FPT file itself using an editor or the DOS TYPE command. If there is data in the .FPT file that you can see, it would suggest that the pointers have become corrupted/duplicated in some way. This is a fairly commonplace scenario. This would call for a .DBF/Memo toolkit - something like Abri's "Recover" (
http://www.abri.com). Sometimes, however, it is tough to resync the memo to the DBF record.
