I keep references to oft-used drawings in a VFP database (so far, I've been creating BMP's of each CAD image) but now I'd like to read the ACAD files directly (if possible) to eliminate having to keep duplicates up to date.

Hi Michael.
I have a VFP 3.0b application that uses a cadd viewer. If you need to view the drawing only and don't need to edit them, the software is not too bad and it is very reasonably priced. It is called DL windows Drawing Librarian. The company that manufactures and distributes it is called SoftSource (if they are still in business). The last phone number I have for them is 360-676-0999. You can leave the .dwg files alone and display them (at least in the earlier version of the software) using some very simple dde commands. You really don't want to store all those bmp's in an fpt anyway, do you? I can only imagine how big the table gets!
