Hi John,
Effects like these shouldn't be a problem with that kind of connection. I just pulled up Word and Excel via Citrix with a similar connection and effects on the menu choices and toolbar buttons and tooltips and the speed was very good.
That said, there are a few caveats to take into consideration like: How many users will be working across the connection (not necesarily your app) at the same time? and Will users ever connect over lower speed connections?
