Formsets are considered as too restrictive: all forms should be modeless, only one DE etc. That's not critical for all situation but will not work for particular frameworks. Another part of story is Pageframe vs Multiple form GUI issue, and here there is no definite answer, it depends on client's request. But if you select multiple form UI it does not mean that you must use formset here; you can have really multiple separate form objects.
