Hello Developers:

I am having trouble getting my project to be recognized by SourceSafe Version control.

After I select SourceSafe and go to the projects menu item on the toolbar to > Add project to Source Control..........a form pops up that prompts me for a user name and password. The problem is that in the database text box it has the word COMMON already typed in as the default database. When I go to browse, COMMON is the only database I have to choose from.

When I throw a username and password into the form, just to see what it does, and press ok> an error message pops up that says:

File c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\COMMON\VSS\data\um. data may be corrupt.

Once again, it has the database COMMON in the string.

If anyone has any thoughts or advice for me to get my version control up and running -- I would truly appreciate it. I am a new developer and definitely in the learning stages!

Thanks
Jason
