It seems that whenever I either access a table across the net, or append the data in a remote table to a local one, that some how records get trashed. Yesterday I opened a table on a remote drive, browsed it, so everything was ok, PACKed it, and then browsed it again. About 25 of 175 records were offset by two characters.
Today, I found the same problem from a local table that I had appended records to from a table across the net.
Not only are the records offset, but in the middle of a character field, garbage characters are showing up.
I am using absolutely standard microsoft products here, no strange config. Windows 98 peer to peer, tcpip, vfp 5.0 and 6.0 (the error has happened on both!)
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Todd
