>No, I'm just a lowly yellow envelope person, and I get that combo box if I've been away for more than a day or so.

Maybe I've just never been away long enough ... ;)

>If you don't scan through all the messages that are in the top paine BEFORE you click on the yellow page (left paine) for new messages, the older messages will seem to be lost. [etc.]

I realize all that, and that's not what's going on.

Any time I log in to U.T., I go through the entire list of messages in the top frame before hitting the refresh icon.

What I'm saying is that, after I read all the messages in the list and go away, the next time I log in I may not see all the messages posted since what was shown in the frame when I disconnected normally from my last session.

I'm pretty confident that I understand what's supposed to happen, and that I'm accurately describing what's happening which I don't think is supposed to. I'm not leaving out steps in my description of what I'm doing. It's like this:

1) Log in. See entire message list as provided on login.
2) Read messages I want to, ignore some of those on the list. (But look at whole list.
3) Disconnect from U.T. (Go to other web site, close ie, whatever).
4) Reconnect to U.T., log in. Look at list of messages. Look at calendar view. Some messages showing in calendar view since my last login didn't show in list of messages.

Thanks for all your input. This annoys me, but I can get around it by just remembering to check calendar view when I'm concerned about missing messages. It's really not worth spending my life figuring out.

Thanks again,
