>>In regard to beliefs that 'new version' will fix something: do you really believe in this? These 'useless custom methods and properties' will be used as long as VFP exists. Say 'thank you' that there are still ways to make grid workable :), if some 'fixes' will be applied I'm not so sure.

>Well, every new version (of any app including VFP) fixes some problems with the previous version, and introduces other problems, of course! (Another Murphy's Law of Computing.) Of course I can't predict WHICH behaviors will be changed from one version to the next. Maybe some of what we're talking about, MS Fox Development Team even considers "That's not a bug, it's a feature!" (Another Murphy's Law!)

>I mainly said what I said because of the funny (I hope) reference to the Murphy's Law (paraphrased from memory):
>If you write complex routines to work around a bug in the current version of the software, the next release of the software will fix the bug, leaving you with a useless complex routine.
>
>Geez, what got me started on Murphy's Laws of Computing? Must be because I'm working on a computer, and all the laws really apply, constantly reminding me of them!

>Cheers,
I agree that Grid.NoRebuildFromScratch property would be welcomed, but having some experience since Foxbase times, I doubt its appearance :).
