There should be documentation on Answer and Request files. Basically, your VFP app creates a request file containing the credit info. ICVerify is watching the folder, so as soon as you create the request file, ICVerify will read it and attempt to process. In the meantime, your VFP app begins watching the same folder for an answer file. When ICVerify is finished, it creates an answer file with the processor's response. Your VFP app reads the answer file to see if the card was accepted or declined.
The Answer/Request file format seems to be emerging as a semi-standard in Credit Card Processing software. A lot of them are supporting it. Many also have ActiveX controls, I'm not sure about ICVerify though.
