Hi Doug,
Well, it's a perception thing. Between me and you we know that this would work, however, my boss saw me accessing Goldmine tables in fpw when I was converting some Act! user fields over and she saw the little memo conversion prompt before fpw opens the table, and she didn't like it. Then, by coincidence, the next day (because of syncing problems) some goldmine data got hosed. My boss would not be convienced that me opening the tables in fpw had nothing to do with the data problems. Anyway, she has requested that I do not open the goldmine tables outside of goldmine (moving from Act! to GM was her call and we are in the middle of converting all our salesreps (15) and she is very touchy about it). She knows a little about a lot and had read about DDE in the Goldmine manual, so she asked me if I could use that. I said sure and that's what I'm doing.
Thanks!
Rob
> Since GoldMine data is in either DBF or SQL Server format, depending on which version you have, why not just access the tables directly rather than going through DDE? We used to use GoldMine and that's what I did.
