I'm enhancing a customer master table to go from the North American standard of City (c-15), State (c-2), Zip (c-10) and Phone (c-14) to a more international version.
I know that the most flexible option would be to give the user a memo field and let them do whatever. However, they want to keep the current "city, state zip" format intact for "domestic" companies and some alternate field(s) for others.
Current thoughts are to use a Country drop-down that would let us "toggle" which address fields are enabled. What special kinds of things/lengths should I expect? (like Prefects, Districts, Regions, Postalcodes, etc.)
On phone numbers, what is the longest?
