I've had the EXACT same problem. Like you, it would only happen if I tried to build at the end of a VFP session, not at the beginning.
Suspected for a while it had something to do w/having AOL running at the same time as when I was building the project. However, it went away after I reformatted my HD - am still running AOL, so I guess that WASN'T the problem, although for some reason, I still think it had something to do w/it.
