I have a table created by Foxpro 2.5 DOS containing about 620,000 records residing on a WinNT Server. If I run a very simple (rushmore optimizable) query using FoxPro 2.5 DOS, the time is 2.87 seconds.

Running the exact same query using VFP 5.0 takes about 14 seconds.

Also, when I am just opening the table "USE TABLENAME", the DOS version opens immediately, while the VFP takes about 5 seconds to open.

Is the DOS version this much better? Is the problem due to the table being in an older format? What am I missing here?
