That's what I originally did, Jim. The column was not bound (but it did have it's ControlSource set to the Name) and Sparse was .T. The combo was bound to the Name_ID from the parent table (I did mention I had a parent-child relation here, didn't I?) ... so, there was only one thing bound to this column and that was for the combo control. Do you still have any ideas what the problem might be?


>You confusing something here. You can have the column bound to data or you can have the control in the column bound to data. Either way there is data binding in the column. When you bind the column to a controlsource and you also bind the control in the column you are telling VFP to show the name in this column but show the number in the control in this column and to update the name from the column but also to update the number form the control in the column, is there any wonder that VFP gets confused on you.
